Election Info

The South Orange-Maplewood Board of Education consists of nine members, each elected to a three-year term. Each year, three of the nine seats are up for election.

At each election, voters are entitled to cast three votes for the Board of Education candidates listed on the ballot. The top three voter-getters are elected.

Make a Plan to Vote

If you are a voter by mail, complete your ballot and return it; we strongly suggest you use one of the available ballot drop boxes rather than risking the U.S. Mail. For drop box locations in Essex County, see: https://www.essexclerk.com/_Content/pdf/drop-box-locations.pdf

If you are voting in person, early voting starts Saturday, October 24 and runs through November 1. For times and locations, see: https://tinyurl.com/essexcty-earlyvoting
